JERRY MAZO
Principal Designer & Founder of SPACEdfi, and Co-Founder of Design Plan Builders
Jerry started his passion for design in 1999 while living in Chicago working for a new construction real estate group. He moved to South Florida in 2008 and attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, he opened SPACEdfi, Design For Interiors in 2011. Over the course of the past 14 years, Jerry was the Lead Designer of a high-end contemporary furnishings & design showroom in Boca Raton Florida. Jerry then expanded into luxury Italian kitchen, bath, and closet design. His experiences paved the way to partnering with leading local realtors, custom home builders, and premier development groups. This is where he was introduced to Jimmy Crews , a custom home builder. Together Jerry and Jimmy founded Design Plan Builders. Jerry loves getting inspiration from his travels and apply them to his “function first, fashion follows” approach. His personal favorite design trick is to combine masculine tones with feminine lines while implementing a layering strategy of textures, lighting, and a mix of neutral elements. “One of the most important aspects of design in my opinion, is that the story we create speaks to the clients personality and way of life.”
JIMMY CREWS
Principal State Licensed Building Contractor & Co-Founder of Design Plan Builders
Jimmy graduated from the university of USMC. After his service in the military, he dedicated himself to learning the construction industry hands on from the ground up. Jimmy began his career in the construction industry in 1983. Over the years he has successfully collaborated with architects, engineers, designers and owners to deliver a safe, on-time, and within budget; projects that exceeded expectations. He has added experience in capital improvements for Marriott Hythe, a luxury brand in Vail, Colorado and the Omni Hotel at Yale University. Over the course of Jimmy’s tenure, he has been an integral component in numerous luxury residences throughout the South Florida coastline including: Jupiter Island, Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Highland Beach, Bal Harbor, Miami Beach and Fisher Island. Jimmy and Jerry joined forces on a Delray Beach waterfront new-build residence in 2022. As they went through the design/build process, they realized that they had similar work ethic and integrity; a trait not often found in their industries.
